A series of lectures, tours and music at the various congregations, beginning in 2014.

We are exciting to be a part of this series of events. CHBC will host the tour on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at 4 p.m.

The Chestnut Hill Historical Society, together with religious congregations in Chestnut Hill, are offering a series of lectures, tours and music at the various congregations. The lectures and tours are free. A free-will offering at each congregation will be greatly appreciated by the congregations that are graciously making their facilities available.

January 12th 2014 at 4:00 pm Our Mother of Consolation Catholic Church 9 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue	January 26th 2014 at 4:00 pm Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church 22 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue

Bastion of Catholic tradition in Chestnut Hill Lecture and holiday music followed by refreshments	Magnificent pipe organ in a cathedral-like setting Lecture and organ recital. A tour of the organ after the recital, followed by refreshments
February 9th 2014 at 4:00 pm Christ Ascension Lutheran Church 8300 Germantown Avenue	March 2nd 2014 at 4:00 pm Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields 8000 St. Martins Lane

Petite stonework gem on the Avenue Lecture and communal singing. Tour of church and refreshments.	Built as the center of Chestnut Hill’s 19th Century development Lecture followed by evensong. Refreshments will be served after the service.

Refreshments during the cemetery tour	Newest religious structure on the Hill A place of simple and elegant serenity Lecture and tour of the new meetinghouse including (weather permitting) the 50 minute James Turrell Skyspace experience. Refreshments.
